Care

Care is the practice. Belonging is the result.

Knox's Care Team weaves practical and pastoral care through the rhythm of the week, for members, attenders, and neighbours.

When something hard happens, a diagnosis, a loss, a stretch of loneliness, a baby on the way, you don't have to be on a list to call. You can call the office at 519-886-4150 or email knox@knoxwaterloo.ca, and the Care Connector will help you find the right next step.

Prayer

The prayer chain

  • Confidential, member-led intercessory prayer
  • Requests submitted through the Care Connector
  • Names held only for as long as you ask

Visiting

Pastoral visits

  • Home, hospital, or coffee shop, wherever helps
  • Hugh and the Care Team coordinate together
  • Members of associate clergy assist as needed

Connection

The Care Connector

  • One person, one call, multiple paths forward
  • Bridges into community supports beyond Knox
  • First point of contact for new caregivers and care needs

Care through food

Meal support & the casserole network

Knox cooks. After a baby, a surgery, a death, or any season where a hot meal you didn't have to make is exactly the right thing, the meal ministry shows up.

Volunteers cook, deliver, and coordinate together with the Care Team. To request meal support, or to volunteer to cook, contact the office.

Beyond the building

Worship at retirement homes

Each month, Knox volunteers lead worship at eight retirement and nursing homes across Waterloo Region, making sure that the people most likely to be left out of "going to church" still have a Sunday community.

If you have a connection to a home that would welcome our visit, let the office know.
