KnoxWaterloo

Worship

Sundays at 10am, in person and online.

Thought-provoking, participatory, music-rich. Knox worship draws on prayer, scripture, preaching, story, sacrament, and the visual and dramatic arts.

What to expect on a SundayWatch this Sunday

The shape of a service

Worship is participatory, not performance.

Each Sunday brings together music, prayer, scripture, preaching, storytelling, sacraments, and the visual and dramatic arts to explore God's presence in everyday life. Some weeks are quiet and contemplative. Other weeks are full and loud. Both are at home here.

Children remain in the sanctuary for the first part of the service and then head to age-appropriate programs. The Pray-Ground and nursery are always open.

Music

Chancel Choir & Praise Band

Two ensembles share the music of worship, week by week. The Chancel Choir leads choral and traditional music; the Praise Band leads contemporary and gospel. We also welcome guest musicians and seasonal ensembles.

Sacraments

Communion, first Sundays

We share communion the first Sunday of each month, with bread and grape juice. All who wish to participate are welcome, you don't need to be a member of Knox or any other church. Baptism is celebrated periodically by request.

After

Coffee Hour in the Hall

After worship, we move across the foyer to the Hall for coffee, tea, and conversation. It's the easiest place to meet the staff, find a fit for kids' programs, or just stand by the window and not be bothered.

Watch online

Can't join us in person? You can join us online.

Sunday worship is livestreamed in full. The video stays available afterwards, so you can watch later in the week if 10am doesn't work for your household.
